Fitness Star Episode 2
Fitness Star World’s second video includes an interview with Ania A. right before she goes out on stage for the Bikini Round. Also, highlights of the men’s sports wear round and interview with President James Erdt and Leroy Bascombe. Watch out for the third and final video with the women’s sports wear round and interviews with judges and other competitors.
Fitness Star Worlds Episode 1
Athletic Life had the pleasure of being welcomed by Fitness Star to cover the World Championships. Candice Kay got to do several interviews with competitors and judges as they prepared for the show. The show started off with a demonstraion from the Kangoo Jumps Toronto who offer a different way to exercise. Before the show started they gave a demonstration of how the shoes work. James Erdt put on a spectacular show. The show had lot’s of energy, the athletes were excited to compete and James did an exceptional job always engaging the crowd. Every competitor looked amazing right from the Level 1 competitors all the way up to the Pro Division. This video is going to be a 2 part series to show viewers how the compeition unfolded. The next video will give more in depth look at more of the compeition as well as interviews with Owner of Fitness Star James Erdt and VP Leroy Bascombe.
Simone Sinclaire Hot and Fit Launch Party
Athletic Life had the opportunity to visit with Simone Sinclaire who was at the Inside Fitness Hot and Fit Lanch Party. Candice Kay host of Athletic Life conducted the interview and goes onto say that she had an “amazing experience”. The people and models involved in the Hot and Fit Party are people that are wanting to change the industry. The models are not just nice to look at but they are good people and not just people on a magazine. Many of the models show you can be healthy, fit, and be great role models.
Simone Sinclaire who is a popular fitness model and has appeared in several commercials, and was voted number 8 in the Hot and Fit Models. Simone is an OPA competitor and has won the Thorne International Bikini Title. To find out more about Simone you can visit www.simonsinclaire.com. During the interview Candice and Simone talk about the soccer shoot they did together. They both confessed they could not play soccer but from the pictures that were taken they “looked like they could play”. Simone website has a lot of interesting reads that I’m sure you will enjoy!
Niclole Wilkins Lee Backstage and Fitness Model Gregg Plitt

Greg Plitt has appeared on the covers of a few hundred magazines and is one of the top fitness models in the industry. Greg has been working out his whole life. The gym for Mr. Plitt is not about how big his bi-ceps are but it’s a metaphor of life. The gym for Greg is a non subjective place where he can go and apply the fundemental building blocks of success. Greg has won multiple awards and has appeared on many comercials. Greg won the 2009 Star Physique Award for Best Male Physique on TV. Men’s Fitness magazine named Greg one of America’s 25 Fittest Americans. Greg has done commercials for million dollar companies such as Old Spice Under Armor and ESPN. Some of Greg’s fundemental building blocks include: work ethic, dedication, and integrity. He not only tributes the gym to looking and feeling better but having a better mind set, and having a better mind set and confidence of who you are and apply the physical and mental transformation in which you can apply it to all aspects of life. Greg gets a natural high from working out and helps Greg have that mind body connection. Greg expains all you have to do for the transformation is spend an hour in the gym.
Santana Anderson Mr. Canada
Santana Anderson got into body building in his early teens. He enjoyed bodybuilding since he was 14 or 15 years of age. He read various body building magazines and decided to take body building to the next level around the age of 20 or 21 years old. Santana has stuck with it since then. Born August 26, 1979 Santana has recently obtained his pro card in August 2010, I went to Nationals and won the heavyweight division, overall champ and my pro card.
What keeps Santana going? It takes time…it takes a lot of hard work and is something you can’t acheive overnight. It takes years for all the work he puts in to get to where he is today. He began training for his first show in 2002 in which he ended up placing second as a light heavy. Within a couple years, Santana was able to win his heavyweight class. He competed at the provincial show again, where he took the overall. In 2006, Mr. Canada prepared for nationals again, only to be disappointed with a flattened-out physique.

IDFA Show
Episode 5 took place at York University in Tornonto, Ontario. The IDFA. The IDFA was founded in 2005, and is commited to promoting drug free (natural) bodybuilding world wide through education, awareness, camaradarie, and involvement. The IDFA will maintain integrity of drug free athtletics through awareness programs and the promotion and sanctioning of drug free bodybuiling, fitness and figure competitions and shows. The IDFA will have in place strict drug testing guidelinesand protocols to ensure a fair playing ground at all IDFA sanctioned events.
One of the judges of the IDFA explain to athletes how the testing works and how the athletes need to proceed. The IDFA tests atheletes using WADA. WADA plays a key rol in anti-doping with IDFA athletes and the labratories activities include scientific research, education, development of anti-doping capacities, and monitoring of the World Anti Doping Code. WADA headquarters is located in Montreal, Quebec. Winston Johnson was a major stand out in this compeition. Winston is originally from Jamaica and had competed there several times. Winston has been body building since 1999, and competiting since 2000. Winston says “he just loves bodybuilding”, and it this was his first competition in Canada. Before he stepped on stage he says in the video “I will be the next champion of the IDFA”. He was right about that he won the competition.

IDFA Show
IDFA Episode 4 took place in Montreal, Quebec. Nadine Young IDFA Pro opened the show with a dance performance. Nadine Young is a full-time firefighter who started competing several years ago, but it was about one year ago when she got serious about it and had a very successful season that culminated with her winning the IDFA Pro Universe Figure Championship in November 2010. This is the IDFA’s top pro figure event and she now holds the title of IDFA Ms. Pro Universe. Competitions are only part of the reaso…n that Nadine is involved in fitness. She wants to be an extremely positive role model and will be working with the IDFA throughout 2011 promoting women’s figure at most of their events, including workshops, and will be making guest appearances and speaking at almost all of the competitions country-wide. Shaun Campell interviews Nadine Young after her performance and asks her about her experiences perparing for the routine and performing it for the first tme on stage. Shaun Campbell said “it was definatley unique” and showed his appreciation for performing the act.
Candice Kay interviews judge Ken Clement about how he judges ones physique on stage. He simply put it he judges by ”structure”. Implies an even balance of muscular development in comparison to each muscle group. Ken explains the judging process happens so fast and he is really looking at numbers and physiques. Ken also looks at athletes on stage that are well conditioned along with symmetry or ”proportion” or expressed to indicate an aesthetic quality throughout the physique. Although, in its strictest definition, symmetry denotes equal development of muscularity on both right and left sides of the physique .
